Computing
Mrs. Westlake
Ms. Melluish
In Computing we build on the work done in Primary. We learn about how to manage risks when using technology, and how to protect individuals and systems. We learn how computer networks can be used to retrieve and share information, and how they come with associated risks. We learn what a computer is, and how its constituent parts function together as a whole; how to select and create a range of media including text, images, sounds, and video; to understand how data is stored, organised, and used to represent real-world artefacts and scenarios. And we practice activities involved in planning, creating, and evaluating computing artefacts using a range of software tools. We consider how individuals, systems, and society as a whole interact with computer systems and we develop skills in programming and developing software to allow computers to help us solve problems.
